Flux has launched the FLUX Playground, a browser-based interface for generating images from text prompts and reference images so users can experiment with the model’s latest capabilities without installing tools or signing up with a credit card. New users get 200 free credits to start, and additional credits can be purchased (credits are priced at $0.01 each for a 1,000-credit pack). The playground bills image generation in credits — one “Pro Image” consumes 4 credits (so a Pro Image costs roughly $0.04 at the 1,000-credit rate) — and supports uploading references to guide output alongside textual prompts. For the AI/ML community this lowers the friction for rapid prototyping, creative exploration, and producing reference-conditioned outputs for tasks like concept design, data augmentation, or model benchmarking. Because it runs in the browser and exposes both text and reference conditioning, researchers and creators can iterate quickly on prompt engineering and reference-guided synthesis, making it useful for downstream workflows and qualitative evaluation.
