Microsoft reveals Agent 365 - the new and (hopefully) easy way to get a handle on all these new AI agents at work (www.techradar.com)

At Microsoft Ignite 2025 Microsoft unveiled Agent 365, a centralized platform in the Microsoft 365 admin center for discovering, governing and monitoring AI agents across an organization. Agent 365 ties agent management into Microsoft Defender, Entra and Purview, providing a single view of every agent’s identity, permissions, app/data connections and live behavior so admins can grant, limit or revoke access, detect oversharing, and measure agent performance. It also links agents into Microsoft’s Work IQ for richer contextual signals and offers “agent workspaces” that let agents perform tasks safely without disrupting users. Technically, Microsoft also previewed native Model Context Protocol (MCP) support on Windows and new agent connectors that let agents access system files and Windows settings (network, Bluetooth), and make agent-aware apps more discoverable to developers. For the AI/ML community this matters because it moves agent operations from ad hoc proofs-of-concept to governed, scalable deployments: standardized context passing (MCP) improves interoperability, built-in identity/data controls help manage model access and leakage risk, and integrable telemetry enables operational monitoring and compliance. The result should accelerate enterprise agent adoption while shifting emphasis to governance, dev tooling and secure human–agent workflows.
