We Added ACP Support to Augment (Now in Zed, Neovim, and Emacs) (www.augmentcode.com)

Augment has added ACP (Agent Client Protocol) support to Auggie CLI, making its software agent available in Zed, Neovim, Emacs and any other ACP-compatible client. To use it today, Zed users need version 0.211.6 and the Auggie extension; Neovim and Emacs can connect via ACP plugins such as CodeCompanion and agent-shell.el. This release delivers Augment’s context-aware agent into more developer surfaces without bespoke integrations, with JetBrains support coming soon. Technically, ACP is an open protocol that standardizes communication between editors/clients and agents, so Auggie can now surface Augment’s industry-leading context engine and deep codebase knowledge consistently across tools. That lowers integration friction, enables a single agent experience across editors/terminals/browsers, and accelerates new tooling built on top of a shared agent API. The move signals a broader shift toward “agentic” development workflows—agents that do more than autocomplete by understanding project context and automating parts of the software lifecycle—so developers can expect more portable, powerful AI assistance embedded throughout their toolchains.
