A new Chrome extension, .faf - AI-Context (version 1.0.3), lets you extract machine-readable AI context from web-based development environments—GitHub, Monaco, StackBlitz and similar—and produce one-click AI-readiness analyses and downloadable .txt reports. The tool generates a 0–100% AI-readiness score with detailed breakdowns, designed specifically for development platforms (not generic site ratings). Reports are formatted to act as a gateway to the fuller .faf context format and can be upgraded with MCP for advanced features. The extension is lightweight (~284 KiB), runs entirely locally with zero network requests, and is free for individual developers. For AI/ML practitioners this simplifies feeding high-quality, privacy-preserving project context into assistants and code tools: reviewers and LLMs can consume the .txt reports directly, speeding repo evaluation, onboarding, code reviews, and tooling integration. Because processing is local and no data is collected or transmitted, it’s suitable for sensitive codebases. The vendor positions the FAF format as a potential standard for AI context (analogous to package.json for dependencies), which—if adopted—could streamline how development environments surface structured context to automated tooling and LLM-based workflows.
