AAA-ICDR to launch "AI-Native Arbitrator" for documents-only construction cases (www.adr.org)

The American Arbitration Association–International Centre for Dispute Resolution (AAA‑ICDR) announced an AI arbitrator launching in November 2025 for documents‑only construction cases. Built with QuantumBlack (McKinsey), the system was trained on more than 1,500 real construction awards and refined with expert‑labeled examples and continuous feedback from construction attorneys and trained arbitrators. It uses a structured legal prompt library and conversational AI to evaluate claim merits, generate explainable recommendations, and draft awards; outputs are benchmarked against human arbitrator reasoning and reviewed within a human‑in‑the‑loop framework so appointed arbitrators validate and can revise AI‑generated outcomes before finalization.
