Wiley launched the Wiley AI Gateway, an AI-native research intelligence platform that exposes trusted scholarly content to leading AI tools through a single endpoint. Built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the Gateway connects publishers’ content directly to Anthropic’s Claude, the AWS Marketplace, Mistral AI’s Le Chat, Perplexity and other platforms, enabling researchers to query peer‑reviewed literature inside familiar AI workflows. Wiley positions this as an interoperability-first alternative to closed ecosystems, with publishers (including Sage and ASM) able to join while retaining control over content use. Technically, the Gateway uses content-transformation and enrichment pipelines to render scholarly articles into AI-optimized formats that preserve citation integrity, methodological context and peer-review validation. That structured, provenance-rich feed helps reduce hallucinations and bias in downstream models and supports tasks from literature synthesis to code-assisted analysis. Early adopters include ESA’s Φ‑lab and an AWS generative agent for literature search. The platform targets universities, corporate R&D and AI developers by offering cross-publisher synthesis, faster discovery cycles and more reliable knowledge grounding — and is available to beta customers and publishers now, signaling a step toward industry-wide, trustworthy AI-powered research.
