I built a harness so I can watch Claude edit my videos live (agentcut.synteq.app)

A new open-source tool named Agentcut allows users to edit videos through a live chat prompt by leveraging AI models like Claude Code or Codex. With Agentcut, users can describe the desired video, and the AI generates visual scenes, motion graphics, and a timeline in real-time. This three-step process—launching the tool, providing a video description, and then tweaking the result—simplifies the video editing workflow, making it accessible for users without extensive coding skills. This development is significant for the AI/ML community as it combines machine learning with practical applications in video production, demonstrating the potential for real-time collaboration between users and AI. With 49 pre-designed motion components and an open architecture that keeps user files localized, Agentcut not only streamlines the editing process but also fosters creativity with customizable styles and templates. The underlying code, which is written in React, allows developers to further personalize and extend the tool, encouraging an ecosystem of continuous innovation and collaboration in multimedia content creation.
