Show HN: Visual heat map of AI news updated hourly (ai-news.jagular.io)

An innovative, interactive heat map has been launched, visualizing the most talked-about entities in the AI ecosystem, including companies, models, products, and key figures. This map updates hourly, with larger and more centrally located items indicating greater attention within AI news and developer discussions. A dedicated Articles section archives stories over the previous 30 days, allowing users to filter by source and access individual articles, which streamlines content discovery for AI enthusiasts. The significance of this tool lies in its ability to provide a real-time snapshot of trends and emerging topics within the AI/ML community. By employing a unique heat-weighting system based on source popularity—from Hacker News to GitHub—the map dynamically reflects the buzz surrounding developments in the field, helping users identify breaking news and new players. The filtering capabilities and distinctive metrics, such as a 24-hour half-life for heat cooling, empower users to stay informed on critical advancements and shifts in the AI landscape. Built independently and inspired by previous work, this tool showcases the continuing evolution of collaborative AI resources.
