Show HN: Autograph – a music notation editor you can drive with Claude over MCP (autographmusic.com)

Autograph has been introduced as an innovative music notation editor that allows users to write music by hand, seamlessly transitioning from handwritten notes on an iPad or Mac to properly formatted musical notation. Designed for quick ideation rather than final typesetting, Autograph captures the stroke of the pen and translates it into standard notation, allowing musicians to focus on creativity. The app also integrates with AI assistant Claude, enabling real-time edits such as adding bass lines or transposing sections directly on the score, enhancing the composing experience. This application is significant for the AI/ML community as it merges handwriting recognition with AI-driven music editing capabilities, making music composition more accessible and interactive. Users can export their work in various formats like PDF and MusicXML, facilitating easy collaboration with other music software. Offered as a one-time purchase after a 28-day free editing trial, Autograph is making strides to streamline the music writing process, particularly for educators and students. Its direct appeal to musicians highlights a growing trend of utilizing AI to enhance traditional practices in creative fields.
