Write_On by Jason Fried (twitter.com)

Jason Fried has launched a new writing tool called Write_On, designed to enhance the writing process by mimicking natural thought patterns. The tool offers unique features such as "alternative control" at the word, sentence, and paragraph levels, allowing users to dynamically play with their writing. Unlike traditional version control systems, Write_On enables writers to dim parts of their text and store snippets nearby for easy access, facilitating a more fluid and personalized writing experience. This development is significant for the AI/ML community as it illustrates the growing trend of using AI to streamline creative processes. By leveraging AI assistance, Fried was able to develop Write_On independently, circumventing the lengthy commercial development cycles typical in traditional software companies. The tool's focus on interactive writing could inspire future AI-driven applications, potentially leading to new innovations that prioritize user experience and creativity in writing.
