GraphDoc – free, open-source, and user-friendly tool to build decision trees (www.maastrichtuniversity.nl)

GraphDoc is a new free, open-source, web-based tool that provides a graphical, no-code interface for building decision trees. Created by student Sander van Essel during an internship at the Law and Tech Lab, it requires no installation and runs online. Users can visually create and edit decision graphs and export the output for direct use in Docassemble — a popular open-source expert-system framework for guided interviews — making it easy to paste or load logic into deployable interview applications. For the AI/ML and legal‑tech communities, GraphDoc lowers the barrier for encoding decision logic, enabling faster prototyping, teaching, and reproducible research without hand‑coding.
