Despite a widespread recognition of AI benefits, with three in four workers engaging with the technology daily, a staggering 95% express concerns about AI operating independently without human oversight. This hesitance reflects a shift in focus from AI's generative capabilities to its agentic roles, indicating a critical need for trust in AI autonomy. The study found that the average employee dedicates over two hours per week validating AI outputs, underscoring the lack of full confidence in AI's effectiveness. Essential to increasing trust is establishing robust security and privacy measures, which employees believe are crucial for making autonomous AI more acceptable. Recommendations include implementing pre-action notifications, monitoring AI activities, and allowing users the ability to reverse AI decisions.
