NotebookLM is now Gemini Notebook (blog.google)

Google has rebranded its research tool, NotebookLM, to Gemini Notebook, building on the initial launch from Project Tailwind at Google I/O 2023. Currently boasting over 30 million users and 600,000 organizations, Gemini Notebook is designed to enhance productivity by transforming how individuals and businesses handle information—from interactive onboarding materials to audio and video summaries of notes. The renaming reflects its integration with Google’s broader ecosystem, including the Gemini app and Google Search. Significantly, Gemini Notebook now features upgraded capabilities, including the implementation of secure cloud computing for each notebook, allowing users to write and execute code directly within the platform. This enhancement enables complex data analysis, expanding the tool's functionality for Google AI Ultra users and Workspace business customers, with plans to roll it out to all Pro users soon. Furthermore, the seamless cross-app syncing ensures that users can access their notebooks across devices and applications, making it a versatile addition to the AI/ML toolkit for research and learning.
