Claude and Slack (www.anthropic.com)

Anthropic and Slack announced deeper integration that brings Claude directly into Slack in two ways: install Claude as a Slack app (use @Claude in DMs, the AI assistant panel, or mention it in threads) and connect Slack to your Claude apps so Claude can search and reference relevant channels, DMs, and shared files when generating responses. Claude in Slack retains its existing capabilities—web search, document analysis, and connected tools—and when drafting replies in public threads it composes privately first so you can review, edit, or regenerate before posting. This integration aims to embed AI into everyday workflows—preparing meeting briefs from channel history, aggregating project status across teams, onboarding new hires from conversation archives, and turning discussions into documentation. Technically, Claude only accesses Slack content you’re permitted to view and respects workspace retention and security settings; admins must approve the app and users authenticate with their Claude accounts. The Slack connector (searching across channels, DMs, and files) is available to Claude Team and Enterprise customers once admins enable it; the app is available today in the Slack Marketplace for paid Slack plans. The result is a more context-aware assistant that accelerates research and coordination while preserving organizational controls.
