The 2026 French Cybersecurity Innovation Radar, launched by Wavestone and Bpifrance at the VivaTech event, highlights significant growth in France’s cybersecurity landscape, revealing 234 startups, including 105 newcomers, and 43 scale-ups. The ecosystem is being propelled by the integration of artificial intelligence, with a striking 70% of startups now incorporating AI into their offerings, compared to 53% in the previous year. This AI adoption is not just enhancing product development but also transforming the cybersecurity landscape by improving detection and response capabilities while also presenting new challenges, as AI can facilitate more sophisticated attacks. Despite a slight decline in scale-up numbers and a consolidation trend with nine acquisitions this year, total funding has remained steady at €304 million. This reflects a maturing ecosystem with diversified investments and an increase in smaller funding rounds. The report underscores the importance of innovation, as nearly half of the startups are launching new security solutions and adopting robust strategies for intellectual property, with 31 having filed patents.
