The Linux Foundation has announced plans to launch the Agent Name Service (ANS), an open-source standard aimed at establishing a trusted identity infrastructure for AI agents. Building on the existing Domain Name System (DNS), ANS addresses critical issues related to authentication, trust, governance, and interoperability as AI agents transition into production environments.
