NVIDIA has announced the launch of Halos, a comprehensive safety system designed to enhance the development and deployment of autonomous vehicles (AVs). This full-stack solution integrates vehicle architecture, AI models, chips, software, and services to ensure safety throughout the entire development lifecycle—covering design-time, deployment-time, and validation-time guardrails. With three powerful systems—NVIDIA DGX™ for AI training, Omniverse™ and Cosmos™ for simulation, and AGX™ for deployment—Halos establishes a robust safety foundation, helping developers achieve compliance with international safety standards and enhancing the reliability of AI-driven AV technologies. Significantly, NVIDIA is setting a new benchmark for AV safety with the Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab, the first facility accredited by the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) for assessing AI functional safety. This lab will facilitate impartial evaluations of system integrations, providing vital inspection reports to accelerate compliance with global safety standards. Beyond AVs, the Halos framework is also expanding into robotics, helping to ensure safe interactions within intelligent systems.
