Ukraine is rapidly expanding its arsenal of uncrewed ground vehicles (UGVs) to enhance battlefield efficiency and counter aerial threats. With President Zelensky setting an ambitious target of producing 50,000 UGVs this year, Andrii Hrytseniuk, CEO of Brave1, emphasizes that Ukraine aims to meet this demand through its domestic manufacturing capabilities. Currently, 99% of the drones deployed at the frontlines are locally produced, with 280 Ukrainian companies contributing to a diverse range of over 550 UGV models, dedicated to logistics, medical evacuation, and combat roles. The integration of artificial intelligence is a game changer for these combat UGVs, which are equipped with advanced targeting systems for engaging enemy drones and armor. Utilizing machine vision for object recognition and tracking, these systems enhance operational effectiveness, enabling autonomous targeting and firing capabilities.
