Cerebras opens 10MW data center in Oklahoma City – DCD (www.datacenterdynamics.com)

Cerebras Systems has launched a 10 MW AI data center in Oklahoma City in partnership with Scale Datacenters, claiming the site delivers more than 44 exaflops of AI compute and houses roughly 1,400 trillion transistors and 315 million AI cores. The facility uses closed-loop direct-to-chip liquid cooling to enable high rack densities and energy efficiency, and Cerebras says every kilowatt-hour is matched with renewable energy. Scale prepared the site—acquired from Expand Energy—and the build is part of a broader rollout that includes plans for more than 300 CS-3 systems at a nearby Scale facility slated to come online in mid-2025. For the AI/ML community this represents a concrete step toward operating very-large-scale, inference-focused infrastructures built around wafer-scale chips. Cerebras’ approach—single-wafer accelerators inside proprietary systems—prioritizes raw die-scale compute, dense interconnects and thermal strategies that let teams run the largest models with lower latency and higher throughput than equivalent GPU farms. The Oklahoma City deployment not only expands geographic capacity for inference workloads across North America and Europe but also signals growing commercial adoption of liquid-cooled, high-density architectures optimized for massive transformer models and production-scale LLM serving.
