Big AI's Regulatory Capture: Industry Interference and Government Complicity (arxiv.org)

A recent paper highlights the alarming extent of regulatory capture by the AI industry, revealing how corporate interests have increasingly influenced government policies and regulations surrounding artificial intelligence. The researchers established a comprehensive taxonomy of 27 mechanisms enabling this capture, categorized into five areas, and analyzed 100 news articles to quantify these instances.
