Stackit and neuland.ai aim to provide LLMs in European data centers (www.heise.de)

STACKIT, the cloud provider for the Schwarz Group, has partnered with the AI firm neuland.ai to create a dedicated AI architecture operated exclusively in Germany. This collaboration combines STACKIT's secure cloud infrastructure with neuland.ai's HUB platform, enabling users to access a range of AI models—including Llama, Mistral, and Qwen—through unified interfaces. Companies can opt to run these models on their own hardware, in STACKIT's sovereign cloud located in Germany, or with US hyperscalers, all while ensuring data sovereignty and compliance with European regulations. This initiative is significant for the AI/ML community as it addresses growing concerns over data privacy and sovereignty, particularly given the US Cloud Act, which allows US authorities to access data stored by US companies, even in Europe. The neuland.ai HUB guarantees end-to-end encryption of customer data, which remains inaccessible for model training, thereby catering to organizations reluctant to send sensitive information to US firms like OpenAI or Anthropic. By aligning with regulatory frameworks such as NIS2, DORA, and the EU AI Act, this new offering positions itself as a trustworthy alternative for European companies navigating the complex landscape of AI deployment.
