UK-founded Nscale has closed a $1.1 billion Series B—the largest in European history—led by Aker ASA with participation from NVIDIA, Microsoft partners, Dell, Nokia, Blue Owl, Fidelity, Point72 and others. The oversubscribed round will fast-track Nscale’s global rollout of vertically integrated, AI-native infrastructure across Europe, North America and the Middle East, expanding its “AI factory” data centres, engineering and ops teams, and commercial delivery to enterprise and government customers. Technically, Nscale offers a full-stack platform (compute, networking, storage, managed software and AI services) delivered from owned and colocated GW+ greenfield data centres optimized for renewable energy and regulatory sovereignty. The company is building latency-tiered hubs—from large GPU farms in Norway to metro clusters—aimed at efficient AI training, fine-tuning and inference. Recent deals include Stargate Norway (targeting 100,000 NVIDIA GPUs by end-2026), a UK supercomputer campus with Microsoft and OpenAI-focused Stargate UK, plus partnerships with Dell (AI hardware) and Nokia (IP/optical networking). The raise signals heavier investment in sovereign, energy-efficient GPU capacity and orchestration tooling (fine-tuning services, inference APIs, AI Studio), addressing acute enterprise demand for scalable, compliant GPU infrastructure.
