Kia is set to launch its innovative AI Patrol PV5 electric van later this year, marking a significant advancement in law enforcement technology. Unveiled on the modular E-GMP.S platform, this all-electric vehicle features various configurations, including Passenger, Cargo, and specialized roles like a police patrol vehicle. In collaboration with the Korean National Police Agency, the AI Patrol PV5 will enter pilot operations in June 2026, integrating cutting-edge AI capabilities designed to enhance safety and surveillance. Equipped with 4K AI cameras and a roof-mounted drone, the patrol van can autonomously detect potential threats such as weapons and emergency situations, alerting officers in real-time. The drone, capable of 90X thermal imaging zoom, allows for effective ground surveillance, tracking suspects and reading license plates while charging on the move.
