The analysis, conducted by processing 2,671 web images through an AI model, identified unique patterns in design, highlighting Japan's preference for lighter colors and denser text compared to other countries. This deviation is particularly significant because it questions common global web design principles and suggests that cultural, linguistic, and technological factors contribute to Japan's unique online presence. The study postulates three primary reasons for this phenomenon: the complexity of Japanese writing systems, which limits font choices and visual hierarchy; risk-averse cultural tendencies that favor information-rich interfaces; and a slower technological adoption rate in web design due to Japan's independent evolution in mobile technology. Despite these factors, there is a measurable shift toward more globally aligned design trends among younger Japanese web users. This research not only adds to the understanding of how cultural context shapes digital interfaces but also emphasizes the necessity of considering local user behaviors in the design process globally.
