The Agentic Organization
A groundbreaking framework, termed the "Agentic Organization," has emerged, reshaping the understanding of organizational design and decision-making in the age of AI. Developed with the aid of an AI language model, the framework critiques existing organizational theories that were built on the premise of human agents, asserting that AI agents fundamentally disrupt these long-standing concepts. Six foundational theories from management science—including bounded rationality, principal-agent theory, and transaction cost economics—are deemed obsolete in the context of AI, as these concepts fail to account for the unique capabilities and behaviors of AI agents.
